You can find many pieces of furniture to transform into beautiful works of Mosaic art and making your mosaics original and special to you will make them more meaningful and their appeal will last longer. You know mosaics last for a very long time so make it worth doing.
You can mosaic practically anything that will stand up to the weight of the grout and the tesserae. You have got your glass mosaic tiles, mosaic kit, mosaic design and mosaic patterns, everything seems to be ready but there are still things you need to check as well.
Check the following before you start:
1. Check that the surface for the mosaic does not have extreme curves, otherwise the grout will not adhere to the surface.
2. Make sure you score the surfaces to help the grout fix if you want to use a wood base.
3. Make sure you seal wooden surfaces with a watered down solution of PVA glue, the white general purpose glue that can be found at any hardware store.
4. Make sure the adhesive will work with the combination of tesserae substance and base substance.
5.Make sure the surface is clean thoroughly so the grout can catch.
Have fun!!
